| Municycling is just like mountain biking (well sort of).
Municyclists basically ride similar terrain to mountain bike riders. Mountain
bike riders can vary from any one who rides for leisure and fun to those who
invest in high tech gear and spend hours trying to destroy their investment.
Municyclist can ride on bike paths, simple dirt tracks to awesome and extreme terrain. Kris Holm is the ultimate example of an extreme Municyclist . I tend to like cruising through forest tracks of varying difficulty. I also love some steep down hills. I dream about trying to develop advanced skills. Why Municycling? In a nutshell; it is just more challenging, exciting and fun. From beginner to extreme, every ride challenges the rider, every bump, dip, uphill, downhill, stick, rock and occasional snake that you don't even consider on a bike becomes a challenge on a unicycle. Is it dangerous? At the normal level no, it is easy to step off. This is more frustrating psychologically or embarrassing rather than dangerous. Extreme could be considered dangerous at times. It is suggested to always wear protective gear which should include a helmet, wrist and knee guards. Do you have to be mad or crazy to participate in Municycling?Welllll, maybe yes but not really. A good deal of self motivation helps. Do you have to be a teenager to be a Municyclist?Definitely no. I am sure being younger can help with balance and bravado. I am over 50 and love riding my unicycles. I believe George Peck, one of the best is over 60. As long as you feel like trying new experiences Its your own challenge and if you like the elements it is a great way to experience them. |
